MOON SONG: MORE THAN JUST A LULLABY

Some songs come with a clear purpose. Others take years to find their meaning.

I wrote MOON SONG a long time ago, with the idea of creating a lullaby—something delicate, something fragile, like a baby in the womb, like the image of a mother carrying life inside her. It wasn’t written for anyone in particular. Just a song to comfort myself, to hum in the quiet, to feel a sense of peace.

But life has a way of reshaping the things we create. What started as a personal lullaby, sung to no one, now belongs to my daughter, Izzy. I never imagined this song would turn into something real—something I’d actually sing to my firstborn. The same melody that once carried me through sleepless nights now carries her into dreams.

A Song That’s Traveled Through Time

MOON SONG isn’t entirely new. Some of you might remember it from December Avenue’s 2010 EP, Time to Go. It was a bonus track, recorded in a single live take—raw, imperfect, just me and the moment. Back then, I never thought about what it truly meant. I just played it, let it exist, and moved on.

Now, it’s come full circle. This time, it’s recorded in 432Hz, with airy stereo vocals, a slightly detuned piano, and an acoustic guitar—simple, intimate, and weightless, like a quiet hum in the night. I wanted it to feel like how it was originally written—fragile, personal, but now filled with something deeper.

More Than Just a Lullaby

This song was never meant for anyone. And yet, somehow, it found its way to the person who needed it most—my daughter. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the things we create don’t reveal their purpose until later. MOON SONG was never just for me. It was always meant to be hers.

MOON SONG comes out on March 21, 2025. I hope when you hear it, you find your own meaning in it too.
