Music has the power to hold onto emotions that words alone can’t capture. Close to Me, the debut single of Above Velvet Air, is a reflection of that—an intimate song about longing, connection, and the quiet fear of losing something real.

Releasing on February 14, 2025, Close to Me marks the beginning of this new journey—one built on raw storytelling and stripped-down sound.

A Fully Independent Creation

Every part of Close to Me—from the music to the visuals—was created by me. I recorded every instrument, shaped every sound, and built the song from the ground up. This project is deeply personal, not just in its emotion but in the way it was made. It’s a reflection of what music feels like when it’s created with no outside expectations—just instinct and honesty.

The Emotion Behind the Song

At its core, Close to Me explores the feeling of wanting to hold onto a fleeting moment. It speaks to the desire to stay close to someone, to preserve the warmth of their presence, and to push back against the silence that distance brings.

The song carries a deep emotional weight, shifting between comfort and uncertainty. There’s a quiet sense of devotion, yet underneath it, a lingering fear of what happens when love feels fragile.

A Personal and Honest Beginning

With Above Velvet Air, the goal is to create music that feels honest and unfiltered—free from expectations, trends, or anything that takes away from its essence. Close to Me is the first step in that process. It’s not about overproduction or chasing a sound—it’s about capturing a feeling, letting the music exist as it is.

This is only the beginning of something more.
